Before his current position, Senator Seyarto represented the 67th State Assembly District from 2020 to 2022, exemplifying his dedication to public service. With a career that spanned an impressive 35 years in the fire service, Senator Seyarto's journey began as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Inglewood Fire Department, and he retired with distinction at the rank of Battalion Chief from the Los Angeles County Fire Department in 2015.
In 1991, Senator Seyarto and his wife Denise chose Murrieta as their home, where they have since been deeply involved in community affairs. His strong sense of duty and community spirit led him to be elected to the Murrieta City Council in 1997, a role he fulfilled with excellence until 2006. After taking a break from elected office to focus on his family and fire service career, Senator Seyarto's dedication brought him back to the City Council in 2016, during which he served as Mayor on four separate occasions.
Beyond his roles in elected office, Senator Seyarto has played an integral part in advocating for nonprofit and community organizations. He has passionately served on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club and contributed his insights as a Board member of various vital entities such as the League of California Cities Public Safety Committee, the Western Riverside Council of Governments, the Riverside Conservation Agency, and the Riverside County Habitat Conservation Agency. Furthermore, his leadership extended to positions such as the President of the California League of Cities Mayors and Councils Department in 2020.
Senator Seyarto's pursuit of education and personal growth is equally noteworthy. He holds an Associate of Science in Fire Science from Mt. San Antonio College, a Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration and Technology from CSU Los Angeles and a Master of Public Administration degree from CSU Long Beach.
A cornerstone of Senator Seyarto's life is his family. Married to Denise since 1987, they are proud parents to three daughters, fostering a legacy of dedication, leadership, and service that spans generations.
